I hamnen finns en vågbrytare vilket vädersäkrar dig för "sydvästen" och med detta har båtplatserna utökats till 20-25 platser. På Lurö finns det mycket att se och göra, bada, boka bastu, gå på museum, njut av stillhet, solnedgångar och god mat. Det finns två restauranger där du kan både äta och fika gott, Lurö Krog och Luröbryggan.Hamnen är medlem i Gästhamnar i Vänern ekonomisk förening med erbjudande var 6;e natt gratis. Varje hamn som är med i föreningen har en symbol en kompass i blå färg.
